"Lets Go!!"

"Heading out for P-day"
Wow! I remember a year ago in Ponce (shout out to Elder Fox) how the time goes!!!! Sorry for not having time to write a big email recently, but here I am. Elder Ferreira and I are doing super well.  He is a great companion and I have learned so much from him. Carlos, the guy we found 3 weeks ago contacting everyone in the street, should be baptized soon! We are hopeful and happy for them.

We got a reference on the phone a week ago and we went to go visit! He is a GOLDEN reference!  His name is Omar and his son is also interested in the gospel. The Book of Mormon has played a key role in their conversion. After the first time they read it, we came back and their eyes lit up.  They shared their testimonies about the Book of Mormon and it was so powerful. We told Omar if he had free time to watch the movie called “17 Miracles” and so he did. He sent us a text the other night and said that “the movie has made a mark on my life, and more than anything I want to be baptized.  The Spirit is real and I can't deny that I have felt it and never will.”  Keep sharing the "Light the World”.  As people see it, the spirit touches their heart and they are more willing to listen and to ACT.
FELIZ NAVIDAD!  I love you all!

The Difference

Hello!
Mission Tour with President and Sister Boucher and President and Sister Gonzalez

Thank you all for your love and support! You guys are seriously the best. Elder Ferreira and I are doing good. He is a great missionary and I am learning so much.

Last night we had to get home to do a report and we were going to start late so we had to get home, but we had one more Book of Mormon to give out! So my companion said, “We are going to do a game.  We have to give the Book of Mormon out before we get home" and I said “Okay, I'm down!” So we did rock, paper, scissors and I won, so I was going to give it out. We want to invite others to Christ, so and this book is so important in testifying of Christ, that we want all to read it!  We contacted a girl and was not interested, so it was his turn and he contacted someone they didn’t want anything either so we decided to make it more interesting. He said “You have to stop a car and give out the book!”  I was like “C’mon man! haha Thats crazy!” I got up the nerves and did it and unfortunately they were not interested.  So in a restaurant, I used the bathroom and when I came out we contacted a guy in the restaurant.  He too was not interested. We then found a young man on the street and he opened up and shared a bunch of personal stories and accepted us and took our Book of Mormon to read.  We felt prompted to share this last copy of the Book of Mormon that we had with us with someone before we returned home! As missionaries, we have to talk to everyone! It was fun!

The sisters passed us a golden reference!  His name is Esteban and he came to church and accepted to be baptized in December! What a miracle!   He is so humble and is already gaining his testimony of the Book of Mormon.  It is so cool to see the Spirit work with people!

Reinaldo is also doing really well. He received his answer! We asked him how he has felt and he said that he has felt this peace and happiness and ever since we found him.  He has felt so much better and his worries are going away and that he feels now that God is listening to him. He also is wanting to be baptized, but he needs to get to church! I love this work with all my heart.  It is hard, but there is nothing more rewarding than to help others come unto Christ.

I love you all!

The District

This week was full with miracles, and trials of our faith. A member that has been coming out to help us introduced us to his nephew, Christopher.  He is 20 and just got here from the states.  He only speaks English, but he came to church and was able to understand a lot of was said. He loved the baptism service of Norman and is excited to learn more. It is so cool to see and find these people with a sincere heart. He has a baptisimal date.

Norman's baptism went well and the spirit was so strong. I was privileged to baptize him. He was one of the most prepared people I have ever met. He said the other day, " Why didn't you guys come over along time ago?! I could have been a member my whole life!”  It is so good to see how the Lord really does prepare His children. We are on His errand to go find them.

Norman's Baptism
He is happy with His decision and told me He felt "lighter". So good to hear. When we had his interview he had a friend over at his house. Her name is Frances, they have been friends their whole life, and Norman has been sharing the gospel with her! Turns out 3 years ago she almost got baptized, so we visited her that night and came to church and loved the service. She has a son that is 16, that lives with her and we would have been teaching him this week too. We are so blessed to see and participate in so many miracles!!

I will be going to be working in the zone of Toa Baja, I am not exactly sure what exact city but we will see tomorrow! I love you all so much.

Helaman 5:12 in the Book of Mormon
12 And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea, when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

Poco a Poco

HELLO!!! Another week has flown by and it is already the last week of this transfer. Elder Tarr and I are having a blast together, even though this last week just about everyone and their dog denied us. But hey, it’s all good.  We tried our best to stay positive and we had a super cool experience. We were honestly dead dog tired and sunburnt from contacting for 5 straight hours with no success, so we said a prayer and started searching again. For some reason we both felt like we should go down a street even though there was like no cars in the street.  That is normally a, "Welp nobody is home here, next street". Sooo we went down and one of the first contacts let us in for 10 minutes and we shared only what we could in that time. He accepted to come to church and for us to pass by. On Saturday he canceled the visit and didn't sound interested and he said he would "try" to come to church. So we texted and called him on Sunday morning anddddddd.....nothing. Then, we get a text and he said what color is your church and we freaked out because he already arrived 30 min early! What a miracle! He is Enrique a father of three boys! We are excited for him.  Norman Rosario is doing so well and is so prepared to be baptized on this next Sunday. A lot of his friends are giving him a bad go of it for being baptized but he says that he knows it’s true right back at them. He is loving the Book of Mormon and still is so confused why people don’t read it more or why they reject it. haha He has helped strengthen my faith so much! We are happy for him! I love the mission so much because you literally want the help these (in my case Boricuas) sons and daughters of God to experience the joy we have felt. When they do it brings the greatest joy and happiness like I have never felt before! Let us open our mouths and share the gospel!!!! Poco a Poco, little by little God prepares his children.  Love you all!
